JOB SUMMARY:
  The Human Resources Specialist (Benefits) assist with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-and long-term disability, and 403(b) plan. Assists employees with benefits enrollment and questions. Verifies all insurance billing and invoices. Maintains confidential personnel and medical files, and ensures compliance with required benefit notices. Assists with unemployment and Workers Compensation claims. Participates in collecting data and preparing reports.  Assist with the preparation of benefits correspondence.  Performs related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:  High school graduate with at least two years of college or other formal post-secondary education required, preferably in human resources or related business courses. Degree in Human Resources or Business preferred.  Three or more years related experience required. 5 years of experience with increasing level of responsibility desired, with at least 3 years in a responsible position of administrative support.  Three or more years in human resources or benefits clerical support or higher level of responsibility preferred.  Knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Leadership skills, office software such as Microsoft Office, data analysis, reporting, and preparing human resources reports required. Must have excellent conflict resolution skills. Must be able to keep accurate records and have good organizational skills.  Must be able to maintain confidentiality. SC driver's license and dependable transportation required.  Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
