JOB SUMMARY: Assists in fulfilling requirements specified in the Head Start Performance Standards in all aspects of Head Start programmatic activities. Primary area of job performance includes working cooperatively with and under the guidance and direction of the classroom Teacher. Works cooperatively with the Teacher in facilitating and effectively carrying out classroom responsibilities, assisting with conducting classroom experiences, and assists as needed with other classroom or center duties. Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or a GED required. CDA (Child Development Associate Credential) preferred. Must be willing to enroll and complete a CDA if no current credential is held. Some experience working with preschool children in an organized preschool program is desired. A valid SC driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is desired. Good written and verbal communication skills required.
