JOB SUMMARY: Has Management and Operational responsibilities for coordinating all aspects of the Health Services Area. Provides guidance and leadership to Health Services staff. Plans, supervises and evaluates the Head Start Health Program as outlined in the DHHS Performance standards. Ensures that each child is up to date on a schedule of age appropriate preventive and primary health care which includes medical, dental and mental health. Counsel parents about child and family health problems. Promotes parent involvement in all aspects of the health program. Reviews, evaluates and interprets health records and other vital health service data.
QUALIFICATIONS: LPN Degree Required. Bachelor Degree in Nursing (RN) Public Health Education, Maternal Child Health ore related field preferred. At least Two (2) years’ experience working in children’s health services or public health nursing desired. Experience in developing and implementing health education programs for children, parents and staff desired. Knowledge of available community resources required. Must be flexible, well organized and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Valid S.C. driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required. Must be able to lift 55 lbs., stoop, bend and kneel without limitations.
