JOB SUMMARY: Is responsible for implementing case management activities in accordance with the approved work plan for the LADDER program. Facilitates, provides, or arranges for any allowable training or service to prepare eligible individuals to enter unsubsidized employment consistent with program goals. Primary responsibilities include outreach and recruitment, intake, counseling and assessment, orientations, prevocational and skills training, supportive services, job development and placement, and follow-up of participants. Provides case management services for eligible customer in the LADDER program relating to education and job readiness. Is responsible for developing and maintaining an effective job development and referral system. Adheres to agency fiscal policies and all funding sources rules and regulations in arranging training and other services. Implements appropriate intake and orientation procedures for participants. Facilitates or provides counseling for personal, career and vocational awareness. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum General Education: Bachelor Degree in counseling or related field desired (or equivalent experience in combination with post-secondary training considered.
- Minimum Work Experience: At least three years’ experience working with individuals in employment training programs or vocational guidance required. Prior experience with job training programs preferred.
- Other: Must have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to relate well to prospective employers and participants. Must have knowledge of area served and services available. Must be able to work without close supervision. Valid SC Driver’s License, good driving record, and dependable transportation required.
