The National Head Start Association’s (NHSA) annual National Conference & Expo brings together the Head Start community from across the country for a powerful week of sharing, networking, learning, and celebration. The 2025 Conference was held in Columbus, Ohio, from May 19–22, and marked a special milestone with the theme “60 Years of Head Start.” During this momentous event, Minister Crystal McDowell—a dedicated parent from Easley Bridge Road Head Start Center and a valued member of the SHARE Board of Directors—was honored as the recipient of the prestigious Ron Herndon National Parent Scholarship Award. Minister McDowell was recognized for her outstanding leadership, commitment to advocacy, and dedication to lifelong learning. She received a commemorative plaque and a $2,500 scholarship to support her pursuit of higher education. Her achievement reflects the empowering spirit of Head Start and the impact of family engagement on generational success.
