WHAT IS CIRCLES GREENVILLE COUNTY?
Circles provides opportunities that inspire and equip families and communities to resolve poverty and thrive!
Circles Greenville County believes the ultimate responsibility for poverty or prosperity in our community rests not only in the hands of individuals, but within all sectors of our community. By engaging all segments of Greenville County, people learn to see each other differently and to think in new ways about poverty and how to eradicate it.
To that end, Buncombe Street United Methodist Church and SHARE have teamed up to bring Circles Greenville County to our community. As the first Circles chapter in South Carolina, we are connected to a network of 70+ Circles communities across 23 states and parts of Canada. CirclesUSA is our parent organization. For more information on them, please visit www.CirclesUSA.org.

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN CIRCLES GREENVILLE COUNTY?
Circles offers a comprehensive program for low-wealth adults who are willing and ready to move out of poverty. In the initial 12-week training class, our low-wealth adults (called Circle Leaders) establish personal Goals and Future Plans that help them exit poverty. They learn new tools to secure and sustain better jobs which lead to careers with income growth and advancement.

Circle Leader Testimonials:
L.R. -- "Circles is like a rescue team. They came into my life as it was dying and revived it. I was broke, broken and homeless with three kids, but now I have a home, money in the bank, attend school and most of all a purpose for my life." (L.R. now works for Greenville Tech and lifts up at-risk students by connecting them with resources.)
C.C. -- "Circles helped me realize there is no barrier or obstacle that I can't overcome. As long as I am willing to try, I will eventually succeed." (C.C. moved out of public housing and into her own home and started her own business.)
T.F. - "What I accomplished in circles was learning that I am not alone. I may be young, but I am not dumb and I can do anything I put my mind to. I accomplished being more aware of resources, being a better friend and mother, and also getting not one but two higher paying jobs. Circles is the beginning of my accomplishments, but it is not the end!" (While raising two small children, T.F. attends college working towards her B.A. in Marketing.)

INTERESTED IN STARTING A CIRCLES GROUP?
The Circles model is very adaptable and can be an added-value initiative to an existing program to support your efforts of helping people or it can be a stand-alone initiative sponsored by your group to help people go from poverty to prosperity.
